I just spotted this informative post by Harsh Agrawal which gives an overview of the new Wordpress Gutenberg Editor. You can read the full article here; https://goo.gl/y1iJYj. This should help Wordpress keep folks with less tech savvy in the fold. I have seen a lot of small business clients choose Squarespace, Wix or Weebly over Wordpress over the last few years. Why? Tech people have been telling average folks that Wordpress is "easy" to use. I have always laughed out loud when hearing such things, as Wordpress has morphed into an impossible confusing mess of plugins, add ons and editors that are just far beyond the abilities of non tech savvy folks to grasp. With my moderate skills, I have struggled as well, needing to watch Youtube videos and visit Wordpress forums to figure out how to easily (NOT!) use various Wordpress templates, plug ins etc.
Alas, the dawning light of common sense has inspired the birth of Gutenberg, which I feel finally delivers the average person a straight forward, easy to grasp CMS (Content Management System). So if you are reading this and are not a "techy", consider a Wordpress site with Gutenberg. From my point of view as an SEO professional, Wordpress sites have always ranked better in Google search than the web based template systems mentioned above. Gutenberg finally delivers this "best of both worlds" scenario, while bridging the cultural gap between geeks and lay people. Get insights on local SEO with Mark Collins. We suggest that you research your top keywords and look for synonyms and closely related phrases that come up in Google's new keyword planner. From these words and phrases, you should then pick a small group of lower traffic keywords, to create new content on your website. You will then need to distribute this content via various media across the web. How and where? For our clients, we combine the following two services. 1) http://www.onweblocal.com/g-pro-page.html and: 2) http://www.onweblocal.com/global-seo.html The combination of these two services is usually enough to get your content top organic rank results. (This is sometimes subject to additional ongoing content distribution if your topic, product or service offering is subject is hyper competitive in nature).
